GOOGLE’S AI SCAM SHIELD FALLS SHORT IN INDIA
Google is rolling out new AI tools in India to combat rising digital scams, including an on-device scam detector for newer Pixel phones that flags suspicious calls and pilot screen-sharing alerts with major financial apps. These features aim to warn users in real time without sending any call audio to the cloud.

But the protection still leaves big gaps. The system works only on recent Pixel models and only in English, limiting its usefulness in a country dominated by non-Pixel Android phones and dozens of local languages. Critics also point out that Google has been slow to remove fraudulent apps from the Play Store, raising doubts about how robust its overall scam-prevention effort really is.
ChatGPT Group Chats Go Global
ChatGPT has launched group chats worldwide, allowing up to 20 people to collaborate in a single conversation. Users across Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans can now bring the AI into shared discussions for planning, brainstorming, studying, or coordinating tasks. Each participant joins with their own profile, and ChatGPT adapts to the flow — speaking when prompted, staying quiet when needed, and responding when tagged.

These group chats are kept separate from private conversations to protect user data. ChatGPT doesn’t use group interactions to build personal memory, and none of your individual memories are shared with others. The feature aims to make ChatGPT feel more like a smart teammate that can help groups work, create, and communicate more seamlessly.
Gemini Hits the Road with Global Android Auto Launch
Google is rolling out its Gemini AI assistant across Android Auto worldwide, officially taking over from Google Assistant in supported cars. Once users upgrade to Gemini on their phones, they can trigger it in the car using the mic button, a long-press on the steering wheel, or the familiar “Hey Google” command. The update aims to make in-car conversations feel more natural and context-aware.

With Gemini integrated, drivers can ask for restaurant suggestions along their route, get details like popular dishes or pet policies, and easily send, summarize, or translate messages hands-free. It can also pull useful details from Gmail — such as an address you forgot — and generate personalized road-trip playlists using music apps. The goal is to turn Gemini into a smarter, more helpful co-pilot for everyday driving
